OHOB supports the centre in the training and development of local residents in Southwark Borough Council and beyond.
The centre offers real life construction training environment for local residents to learn basic construction skills to ensure a progression into an apprenticeship or sustainable job in Construction. They also offer apprenticeships and up-skilling training for existing workers, short courses and programmes to promote Construction in schools.
Since opening in 2016, the centre has had over 4000 learners use the centre and have secured employment/apprenticeships for over 1200 residents.
OHOB have supported the centre and have worked with Sigma Group on the following:
- Delivering over 500 NVQ’s in 2017 and over 180 supervisor/management qualifications for OHOB existing workforce
- Sponsored and delivered 3 pre-employment programmes for local residents by contributing to training and offering sustainable jobs.
- Provided Construction Ambassadors for the SCSC 2 day school challenge
